| I took my Z in cause the brakes were always soft and the car ran rough. They said it would be $2500 two front new calipers installed(they said they were super rare calipers), then another $2000 for a new engine harness. So the bill was going to be $4500. I joined tt.net aroun dthat same time, and worked on my car for the very first time. Two spliced in coilpack connectors, and swapping the left caliper for the right caliper(they were on the wrong side), a quick brake bleed, and I was done...$40 later. Amazing! Now, 3 engine pulls, a million tranny pulls, fabrication of a ton of parts, full interior removals, ect later, and I'd say I made the right decision. the amazing thing is that this place was a really big and reputable shop in a nice area. So now I fucking hate repair shops. Moral of the story...work on your own car.
